What is a Second Lieutenant?

Eligibility Criteria
To apply for the Second Lieutenant position through PMA Long Course 156, candidates must fulfill the following criteria:
- Gender: Male
- Marital Status: Unmarried
- Nationality: Citizen of Pakistan or domicile holders of Azad Kashmir/Gilgit-Baltistan
- Age Limit:
- 17 to 22 years (Intermediate or equivalent)
- 17 to 23 years (2 years graduation)
- 17 to 24 years (4 years graduation)
- 17 to 25 years (Serving Army soldiers)
- Minimum Height: 5′ 4″ (162.5 cm)
- Education:
- Minimum 60% marks in F.A./F.Sc or equivalent
- Candidates with BA/BSc/BBA/BPA (Hons) with 60% marks and 50% marks in Intermediate are also eligible
Selection Process
The selection process for the Second Lieutenant post includes the following stages:
- Online Registration & Initial Test
A written and intelligence test based on verbal, non-verbal, and academic portions. - Physical Test
- 1.6 km run in 8 minutes
- 15 push-ups
- 15 sit-ups
- 3 chin-ups
- Ditch crossing (7’4” x 7’4”)
- Initial Medical Examination
- ISSB Test & Interview
Shortlisted candidates are called for a 4-day evaluation at ISSB. - Final Medical & Merit List
Candidates recommended by ISSB undergo a final medical test at CMH.
